This site is built around two main axes. On the one hand, it aims to transmit the Hopi teachings of the lineage of Grandmother Medicine Song, preserving the richness of the oral tradition. On the other hand, it aims to shape a Hopi community in France, thus promoting sharing and collective development.
Hopi wisdom is a way of being in the world that transforms us internally in order to radiate this change.
The Hopis, among the oldest Native American peoples in North America, inhabit stone villages perched between sky and earth. According to legend, the Creator entrusted them with these arid and desolate lands for the purpose that, on their prayer alone, depend the abundance of rain and harvests. This special connection with nature is why the Hopi are among the most religious people in the world. Their spirituality, which is part of their life and culture, reaches a universal scope. They consider it their responsibility to protect the Earth and reverently perform their ancient ceremonies for the good of all humanity.

Lorraine Glatigny transmits in the respect of the oral tradition, the Hopis teachings received by Grandmother Medicine Song and Satya who granted her the right to teach. The sessions take place face-to-face or by videoconference.
In traditions of oral transmission, there is often a deep respect for the teachings and the elders who pass them on. The students aret required to show respect, caring and gratitude to the tradition bearers and to take responsibility for preserving and in turn passing on the teachings to future generations.
Oral teachings are knowledge, stories, practices transmitted from generation to generation through speech and direct communication. This knowledge is preserved and entrusted verbally, often through stories, songs, poems, tales or speeches.
Oral tradition is a valuable means of transmitting knowledge and cultural values from one generation to the next. They foster a living connection with the past, reinforce cultural identity, and contribute to the preservation and transmission of a community's collective wisdom.

SYMBOLE HOPI
Tawa
Tawa, in Hopi mythology, is the Spirit of the Sun. Tawa created the world from nothing, as well as the original gods. Mothers seek Tawa's blessing for their newborn children by presenting them to the sun.
Tapuat
It represents the relationship between mother and child, beginning at the center and radiating outward as the child's world expands. Life can sometimes feel like a maze, and the Hopis were aware of that. At a higher level, the Tapuat represents Mother Earth or Comic Mother (the universe). It is a symbol of birth and rebirth.
Mongko
He is the symbol of Hopi spiritual law. It represents respect, harmony and love.
Nakwach
This symbol represents brotherhood. Priests and religious leaders attempt to form this symbol by dancing during the wuwuchim ceremony.
Kokyangwuti
The Spider Grandmother, in Hopi mythology, is a deity who can appear in the form of an old woman or a spider. When she is under her spider, she lives underground. The Hopis turn to the Spider Grandmother for advice or to cure illnesses and foods. The symbol of Koyangwuti represents leadership, wisdom and good fortune.
Healing hand
The hand symbol is drawn with a spiral instead of the palm. It represents healing and protection. The spiral represents the Universe, or eternity, and when combined with the shape of a hand, this symbol is said to possess therapeutic energy.
Rattle Kachina
The Kachina rattle is a ceremonial instrument that represents cosmic harmony. The concentric circles, interior and exterior, represent the Sun and the Earth. The inner swastika can represent either celestial body, depending on the rotation (Sun on the left, Earth on the right). The markings on the outer edge represent the stars of the galaxy. The kachina rattle is used by the kachina to signal an impending announcement.
Panaiyoikyasi
Panaiyoikyasi is a Hopi god who represents the link between Earth and Heaven. He exerts his influence when the sun shines and when the rain falls, which means that Panaiyoikyasi is the deity responsible for the flowering of flora and the life of insects that pollinate the flowers.
Kokopelli
Kokopelli's symbol represents an insect-like Spirit. The Spirit is symbolized in the form of a humped grasshopper who plays a wooden flute. It represents spiritual and physical healing as well as love, music and the healing power of music.
It often plays a role in Hopi rituals relating to marriage, the love flute being used by a man to attract a young girl. Once the two spouses were married, the man destroyed his flute never to play it again.
Kuwanlelenta
Kuwanlelenta is the Hopi clan god of the sunflower. It represents fertility and beauty. Sunflowers have an important meaning for the Hopi and they symbolize femininity and the community of women. The Hopis believe that sunflowers are living beings given life by the gods.
